I made the deadline for my painted plate for the Art Access "300 plates" show... by one day! I was a slacker this year. It didn't help that the first day I worked on this piece it fell face flat against the carpet. Luckily it's overall texture was unaffected. I love this little painting! Currently I seem to be painting the majority of my eyes blue. I love the way different shades of blue play off of each other.

I love this one! Maybe it is the blue eyes. My Hanna has big beautiful blue eyes and I am in love with them!

Those blues do bounce off each other nicely. I love it when you post your new pieces.

This is a great piece Melissa! This format created a unique design and very interesting shapes. I wish I were there at the door first in line so that I could get this one :-) I love the stark white on the face contrasted with the make up around the eyes and it is has really nice sepia tones in there. Amazing!

I wish this was a "dinner" plate collection... then I would eat off of this plate each time I ate my mashed potatoes and when my potatoes were almost gone, I would see these beautiful eyes looking back at me as to say, "hi, I'm your potatoes"! It would awesome!

Beautiful piece Meliss, even more beautiful in person.
